‘Show Me Your Insides’ is a collection of snap shots and glimpses comprising a study of what it means to be a person.

It is a visual exploration that delves into different aspects of humans: identity and anatomy and how it relates to the artist and those around her.

‘Show Me Your Insides’ deconstructs our ideas on humanity for inspection – like a heart for dissection.

The artist, through her artworks, explores peoples lives and gives us a look into their hearts and minds, and her own by exploring the inner workings of a human being in terms of the physical, mental and emotional sides.

The exhibition is housed in an installation in the form of a child-like fort. Through photography, paintings, sculpture, and various materials Rebecca shows us stories and asks us to really look at ourselves and ask difficult questions like ‘Who am I?’

Artist bio.

From a young age Rebecca has liked all things creative and kooky. She has always been encouraged to create by those around her. As a child she spent her days writing short stories and silly plays. She also took drama classes and has always been very imaginative. She studied music from a young age, and has been painting and drawing since she can remember.

Last year Rebecca wrote and co-directed a play which was performed by her drama class.

She is currently studying year twelve at a Rudolf Steiner school, which focuses heavily on the creative aspects of education.

In 2010 Rebecca was part of a group portrait exhibition/competition called “Visage”.

Over the last couple of years she has developed a strong style using ink and water-colour, and is now looking to develop more in other media.

Rebecca’s main artistic influences include Frida Kahlo, Mark Ryden and Alex Pardee. She is also inspired by nature and the human body. This is her first solo exhibition.
