JAKE STOLLERY consumes his energy exploring the space between the beautiful & the binary. A passionate technologist and creative, he works primarily for the fashion and music industry. Formally trained in 3D Animation and Graphic Design this exhibition showcases his interest in transhumanism and the integrated future of humanity. As Moore's Law accelerates us toward the technological singularity and our digital assimilation - uploading our minds to an electronic network - one is left to question the loss of our biological self and what will remain to define us as "human".
This work blends photography, raw 3D scan data via a hacked Microsoft Kinect video game peripheral, design, acrylic paint and projection. JAKESTOLLERY.COM http://JAKESTOLLERY.COM
JOEL STATHAM arrives from an artistic family with a background in fine art & graphic design. Growing up and having a presence amongst what is known as the ‘2nd generation’ of Melbourne Graffiti Artists during the ‘80s & ‘90s, a hiatus followed until recent years whereby the passion was rediscovered. Many of his works appear in the celebrated book Kings Way - The beginnings of Australian Graffiti: Melbourne 1983-1993. In Joel’s first gallery show for over a decade, he draws on both his business & artistic experiences, with links to the past & present urban styles & techniques. Fun & contemporary, his works maintain a strong emphasis on colour, style & visual identity.
