They say it's our birthday. So we're gonna have a good time.
And by 'they' I mean 'I' and by 'birthday' I mean the anniversary of The Owl and the Pussycat's first day of trading... but I think we can all agree 'I say it's the anniversary of The Owl and the Pussycat's first day of trading does not have anywhere near the same kind of ring to it so that's that.
But hey, what exactly do I mean by 'good time' *insert inappropriate joke here*
In short we feel like marking the day that The owl and the Pussycat first emerged into the Melbourne arts world - 2 years ago, as a gallery. The same day that one year ago we opened The Runcible Spoon and entered the wild weird world of Melbourne Fringe Theatre.
This year we are launching... The Woods. A fully functioning bar. With cocktails, music, seats, surrounded by arts and catering for artists. The bar is running already but the 15th is our official launch party.
So what should you expect?
What we usually have... art, music, booze, performance, fun, hilarity, and a bit of blackboard banter.
I don't know what else to say. It's been a fantastic couple of years at The Owl, I want to thank everyone who has helped to make it what it is, so what better way to do than throw a party in your honour.
